As the organising committee of the national CMF conference we would like to invite you to come and participate in this year’s conference, 11 – 14 July 2019!
The theme for this year is ‘The Whole Person.’
We will look at this theme from different angles. We will focus on the undergraduate student, what is a person, and then focusing on interns and young doctors. Did medical school ‘de-humanize’ you or are you still a whole person after training? How do you preserve that when working in a busy clinic or hospital?
Our last focus will be on the doctor who has been in practice for years and their family, what are the challenges for them? How do they keep up to date, be an excellent clinician but also a compassionate doctor and a caring parent and partner? As doctors we do not work and practice in isolation, but as members of a team, both in private as well as public practice. What hinders or promotes the team spirit and does our faith and worldview play a role, and how?
There will be a number of parallel sessions on related topics such as ‘the young doctor’, medical missions, addiction and the health care worker, relations and marriage, and community development.
We have a range of good speakers. Peter Saunders, the new CEO of ICMDA, will give a keynote address on ICMDA and bio-ethical developments in the world of medicine.
We look forward to meeting you at the AOG conference centre at Henley on Klip in Gauteng.
Please reserve the dates and register now! Remember to send all registration forms to the CMF office.
